Professor Hanry Yu is the Founder of Ants Innovate Pte Ltd, with a mission to recreate the complete meat-eating experience. He believes that precision engineering of meat-eating quality in the alternative protein space is essential and scalable. Prof Yu was trained in Cell Biology from Duke University (USA) and EMBL (Germany), and ventured into multiple disciplines publishing more than 200 papers mainly on building cell-based models for pharmaceutical, environmental and more recently food applications. He is a Professor of Physiology and Mechanobiology at the National University of Singapore; leads research programs in A*STAR and an MIT research entity in Singapore on cell therapy manufacturing. He also holds and has licensed many patents to his various startups. He is a handling editor of the scientific journal Biomaterials and the overseeing editor for the Biomaterials for Future Food themed collection.
